Q: How do I adapt a lesson for a child, youth, or adult with a disability?
Teachers and leaders are to use Church-approved curriculum and resources. However, lessons and activities can be adapted to fit individual circumstances. For example, a child with an attention deficit disorder may need more songs or crafts related to the lesson. A youth with autism may need to communicate using pictures related to the lesson or a teacher may need to use more visual resources.

Several special needs Primaries and Mutuals are organized where sufficient numbers exist. For more information, contact the Young Men, Young Women, or Primary general offices at 1-801-240-1000 or 1-800-453-3860.
To organize a special needs Primary or Mutual, approval must be obtained from your Area Presidency through your bishop and stake president.

You are encouraged to follow the basic principles of the Personal Progress program, but the goals can be adapted to the individual needs and circumstances of the young women.

Q: How do I submit a question?
This section of the disability Web site attempts to answer as many questions as possible from members with disabilities, their caretakers, and leaders and teachers. It would be impossible to answer them all. However, if you wish to submit a question to the disability Web site, it will be reviewed by the Church’s Disability Committee for possible inclusion.
